For the fastest way to clean an oven, mix the baking soda and water in a small bowl to make this easy DIY degreaser and oven cleaner. Spread inside of the oven, on the stovetop, on heating elements, and oven racks.

You can put this on any surface of your oven, and even clean a pizza stone with baking soda or a baking dish that has caked-on grease. It may be easiest to use a spatula to spread it.

Let the spreadable paste sit for 20 minutes and then wipe it off with dry, clean paper towels. There is no scouring required with this easy method, as you remove the grime at the same time you wipe off the cleaner!

Clean an Oven Naturally with Natural Oven Cleaner Paste

This is another natural paste that works wonders for oven cleaning. If your oven racks aren’t too dirty, you can remove them first and wash them in soapy water. With the trays removed, you have better access to the bottom of the oven.

Pour your ingredients into a glass bowl and mix using a clean spoon or spatula. Add enough water to turn it into a paste that you can spread with a brush. Apply to the inside of your oven and your oven door and let it sit six to eight hours.

It is best to do this before bedtime so you can let it sit overnight. Using vinegar as degreaser is an excellent choice because of how well it works for little money. Keep a big jug on hand for all types of household uses.

Get a bowl of warm water and a scouring pad or microfiber cloth. Use your damp cloth to wipe away the paste and the grime along with it. Continue rinsing your pad in the water. You may need to dump the water a few times until you have a clean oven.

To make this non toxic oven cleaner recipe, pour the lemon juice and cornstarch into a saucepan and heat it over medium heat. Stir until it forms a thick liquid. Allow it to cool to room temperature and then add the dish soap. Pour into a spray bottle.

Spray the inside of the oven and any other surface that needs cleaning. Allow it to sit for 20 minutes and then wipe it down with a cloth dampened with hot water. Make your own glass cleaner for the oven window by using this recipe.

It is particularly effective for the inside of the glass, as it is exposed to grease and baked-on food particles. The outside of the window will wipe clean with a standard window cleaner. This non toxic oven cleaner also works great to clean other kitchen appliances like the microwave and dishwasher, too.

Sometimes, the most basic cleaning solutions work just as well as others. You can steam clean your oven with vinegar by leaving an oven-safe container filled with vinegar in your oven until it boils. Turn the oven off and let it cool. Wipe down the interior with paper towels. Viola! It’s clean.

To maintain the cleanliness of your oven, periodically turn on the self-cleaning cycle. This is a function of self-cleaning ovens that use high heat to burn away dirt and grime. Once the oven cools, you can wipe away the burned off ash. However, this process does take a few hours and can be messier than our chemical-free cleaning options.
