Which is the Best Leather Furniture Cleaner and Conditioner?

Last Updated: April 5, 2024 by Joan Clark

Which is the best leather furniture cleaner and conditioner? I bought a white leather sofa at a yard sale. It’s in pretty good shape, except the seat cushions look a little worn.

Congratulations on your “new” sofa. Let’s see if we can get it cleaned up and looking like new. While you can purchase commercial leather cleaning products, you can also make your own at home and easily learn how to clean leather furniture so that it looks better than ever.

First, gather a few basic supplies like mild facial soap, a couple of clean towels, and olive oil. If you have greasy spots, you’ll need cornstarch. Or if you have ink stains, you’ll want rubbing alcohol. And vinegar is excellent for cleaning up white leather.

The best white leather furniture cleaner and conditioner is a mix of one part white vinegar and two parts olive oil. Once you have it ready, spray that on the dirty parts and let it sit for five minutes. Afterward, wipe it off with the towel. This is also the perfect solution for a homemade cabinet cleaner, too.

You can also use mild soap to clean white leather. Make one towel damp, but not wet. Then put soap on the towel and use that to wipe the leather against the grain. Rinse the towel well and wring out the excess water. Now wipe any leftover soap off the leather. Use a dry towel to dry the leather.

Once the leather is completely dry, you can condition it by massaging it with olive oil. Or you can mix up your own homemade leather conditioner. You’ll need beeswax, almond oil, and olive oil. For example, take a look at our article here to see the detailed homemade leather cleaner recipe:https://www.tipsbulletin.com/how-to-clean-leather-with-simple-homemade-leather-cleaning-recipes/

As a result, you may love this leather conditioner because it smells good and it isn’t harmful to humans or animals.

Best wishes for a fast and easy cleanup on your leather sofa.

Joan
