Indoors, hanging plants clean the air of toxic fumes and add a little of the outdoors inside. Hanging plants outside expands your growing space and allows the eyes to travel up for a more complete green environment.

When planting vegetables, it pays to note the vegetables that grow well together or companion planting basics, so that your plants can benefit from one another. Native Americans knew this quite well, as they typically planted the “three sisters” together – corn, pole beans, and squash. The beans pull nitrogen from the air into the soil and grow up the corn without requiring staking, the squash provides living mulch to help the vegetables grow better, and there are fewer weeds to contend with.

Baking soda in the garden stimulates blooming, get sweeter tomatoes, amend the soil for a proper pH balance, prevent fungal diseases and powdery mildew, and repel insects that can damage plants and harm your crops.
