Home Remedies For You

As we are learning more every day, our ancestors were smart. They made use of what they had to treat common health complaints and eliminate pests from the home and garden. Today, we call these solutions “home remedies.” Rather than buying expensive products that may or may not work well, creating recipes with basic ingredients is equally effective.

Not everyone is susceptible to cold sores, but for those who are, it is often an uphill struggle. The herpes virus lies dormant within our bodies until it is triggered to form a fever blister on the lip. How to get rid of cold sores includes many common items, like rubbing alcohol, petroleum jelly, vanilla, tea tree oil, sea salt, tea, witch hazel, and milk, among many others.

How to use diatomaceous earth or DE is simple. This powder is popular for pest control in the home or the garden, and for a variety of health ailments. Food grade DE, made primarily of silica, is an excellent detoxifier, controls internal parasites, can be used to make toothpaste or deodorant, and is great for the skin.

MCT oil is growing in acceptance for many health-related conditions. The health benefits of MCT oil include improved heart health, easier weight management, and mood and cognition improvement. Also, this supplement has tremendous antiviral and antifungal properties.

We’ve all heard our grandparents complain about having to take a daily spoonful of castor oil when they were children. As it turns out, this was a great idea! What is castor oil? This oil is an effective home remedy for treating arthritis, acne and getting rid of fine lines and wrinkles on the face. It also has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits.
