Homemade Spray Ideas and Recipes

There are sprays for all types of uses, from things in the house to cleaning your car to helping in the garden. You could buy commercial sprays to take care of your needs, but they contain harmful chemicals that no one wants to deal with. Instead, make your own sprays to handle everyday tasks.

Get rid of spiders in your home with a spray made from peppermint or eucalyptus oil, cedar shavings, or vinegar. Keeping the house clean will also help to deter these pests when they’re indoors. Outside, leave them alone if you can, as they are beneficial in the garden and help eliminate other unwanted bugs.

No one likes to have flies zooming around them, whether inside the house or on the patio. Make a fly repellent spray from citrus oils or dish soap or use hairspray to zap them when they get near you.

Eyeglass wears like to have clean, clear lenses to be able to see what they’re reading or while driving. Spots and smudges are not only annoying; they impede your vision. Make an eyeglass cleaner spray in two ways. The first uses water, isopropyl alcohol, and dish soap. The other is made with distilled water, dish soap, ammonia, and rubbing alcohol.

Some people are avid bird watchers, and others want nothing to do with them. Birds in the yard poop on everything and they eat the fruits you worked so hard to grow. How to get rid of them? Make a bird spray with chili pepper, vinegar, and water or use a garlic oil spray to repel them.

Aphids are a gardener’s nightmare. These tiny, pesky bugs can take a perfectly healthy plant and destroy it in no time. Get rid of these pests with a natural aphid spray made from soap and water, vinegar and Castile soap, neem oil, or essential oils.
