We inherited my grandma’s house which is next to an open field. I didn’t know she had a rodent problem. We’ve been having little furry visitors since we moved in. So how do you get rid of mice in your home?

These small rodents cause a lot of destruction and can give you quite a fright. All the advice I have for you comes from an article at this link:https://www.tipsbulletin.com/how-to-get-rid-of-mice-home-remedies/
The first step in keeping mice out of your house is to find where they enter. Mice can fit their small bodies through holes as tiny as a quarter of an inch in diameter. This means it’s important to caulk and block up every entryway they have. You may also consider installing an ultrasonic device that repels and gets rid of mice without harming pets. Even peppermint oil which works great to keep yellow jackets away can deter mice from invading.
Another step to take is eliminating every food source that could attract them. Put away all human and pet food into airtight plastic containers or into the refrigerator. Then clean up any spills promptly and seal up trash cans tightly. Keep the floors clear of crumbs and don’t leave pet food out in the bowl overnight.
Now you’ll need to decide what way will work best for you to catch or kill them. You might prefer to use humane traps. The way to trap mice with these little boxes is that the mice are lured in by attractive bait. The trap captures the mice and holds them until you can release them safely outdoors.
The alternative is to set traps that kill the mice. There are glue traps which inhumanely kill mice slowly, and there are also the classic mouse traps that spring shut. Either way, you’ll have to dispose of the mice bodies. I would recommend avoiding poison. You really won’t want to have mice crawl back inside the walls and die out of reach.
In the end, having a pet cat could also help deter and remove unwanted rodent visitors. I hope all these tips help keep your home mice-free.
